Flu season runs from October to May, so it is best to get your child’s flu shot early in the season to help give their bodies a chance to build up an immunity. Do not worry if your child receives his or her flu shot later in the season, as it is better than not receiving one at all. While children of every age should receive a flu shot, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention highly recommends that all children and adolescents over the age of 6 months receive a flu shot. Children under the age of 5 years have a higher risk of complications due to flu.
